Boler 1700 Project (Frame Broke!)

Part of the joys of working with Vintage Campers are all the unknowns and surprises.

Earlier in May 2020, we purchased a boler 1700 sight unseen earlier this year from out west and had transported to Ontario.

The tongue broke just outside of Calgary and the person that was transporting it made a few bad decisions like to put it on a uhaul car mover...lol

Uhaul car mover had some damage to the fender and had to be repaired as well.

I had to find a local welding shop to get the repairs done and reschedule with the transport company to return back and finish the delivery.

Lessons learned:

  • Always safer to get your trailer transported in an enclosed trailer or on a flat bed when buying sight unseen.

  • New Frames/axles are always a better idea

  • Never a dull moment when working on these vintage beauties

  • #alwaysworthit

We are excited to work on this 1700 at our shop and will be turning this boler into our Nomad Showcase trailer!
